Upgrades to new versions with the same base level is without any cost. So upgrading from version 4.0 to 4.1 and from 4.1 to 4.2 is always completely free. Download the new program, place it 'over' the old installation and you can start working with the new version directly. If the new version requires a different file format, the program will convert the data files for you.
When a new version is published with a higher base level (for example version 3 to 4) then the new software is a completely new program, developed from scratch. Often the new program includes lots of new functions. In such a case the existing customers will be offered a substantial discount when upgrading to the new version.
Customers that have a valid license that is less than 12 months old, can get a license for the new version of the same product for free. Customers that have a valid license that is more than 12 months old, will get a discount of 50% on the price of the license, for the new version of the same product.
Beta products can be registered and purchased, you are actually registering/purchasing the final version 4.0. But because beta versions do not yet have full functionality, a discount will be given if a product is ordered and paid for, in the period that the complete version is not yet available.

So when a Lite product is offered at a price of 99 euro and a Standard product at a price of 159 euro, upgrading from Lite to Standard will cost 50 euro.
